Planning for the future of Virginia Key in Miami
Is Virginia Key Beach of great national historical significance? It was the first segregated beach that African-Americans were allowed to use in the Miami area beginning in 1945 after a civil rights demonstration. Why has this been overlooked in our nation's history? How important is this?
Should it become part of the National Park System perhaps as a northern terminus for Biscayne National Park along with the Miami Circle? What do you think?
