This site is filled with environmental hazards that were dumped there over many years without authorization. Public officials know that it would cost enormous amounts of money to clean it up. There are plans afoot to transform some of the land into ball fields. Key Biscayne officials are interested in that possibility. Yet some environmentalists riase serious questions about the impact of night lighting of ball fields on the sea turtle nesting areas nearby.
